Welcome to the North Texas Behavorial Health Authority The North Texas Behavioral Health Authority (NTBHA) is the Local Behavioral Health Authority for Collin, Dallas, Ellis, Hunt, Kaufman, Navarro and Rockwall Counties. NTBHA was created by the Commissioners Courts of each of the seven counties to oversee the managed behavioral (mental health and chemical dependency) healthcare service delivery system which serves persons eligible for Medicaid and/or public behavioral health funds in the NorthSTAR Region. Click here for the provider directory Self Directed Care Self Directed Care (SDC) is a new way of providing mental health
services in which adults with serious mental illnesses directly control the funds spent
on their recovery. TX SDC participants create a person-centered recovery plan and a budget
for the purchase of goods and services to achieve their life goals. Staff called SDC Advisors
help hire providers and make purchases that lead to wellness. The program is operated
by NTBHA within the seven counties. The managed care company, ValueOptions, acts as
the program's fiscal manager paying service providers and processing budgets. The
program is operated by the Texas Department of State Health Services as part of its
federal transformation initiative. Researchers from the University of Illinois at

NTBHA Town Hall Meetings Town Hall meetings focus on stakeholder input for regional
planning. Join us to learn about efforts to improve mental health and
chemical dependency services. Your input is greatly needed on the
following: What is working now? What can be improved?
Your community needs? Ideas to improve the mental health and chemical

OFFICE RELOCATION NTBHA has relocated its
offices to 1201 Richardson Drive, Suite 270, Richardson, Texas 75080.
Board meetings are held in the large conference room in Suite 210 on the 2nd
Floor. The next scheduled board meeting is Wednesday, July 8th,
